Description

We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join our Ofsted‑rated ‘Good’ Children’s Homes. Each role will have a primary base at either our Swindon, Bridgwater, or Wellington home, with occasional cross‑home support depending on service needs.

⭐ About the Role

You will provide consistent, nurturing and trauma‑informed care to young people who have experienced significant trauma, instability and disruption. Our young people are full of potential – but they need adults who remain calm, consistent and compassionate during moments of crisis.

Current presenting needs include:

  • Missing episodes
  • Aggressive or verbally aggressive behaviour
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • CSE‑related risks

⭐ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing, trauma‑informed care
  • Build positive, professional relationships
  • Support routines, education, activities & independence
  • Promote safeguarding and emotional regulation
  • Respond to challenging behaviour using de‑escalation
  • Complete logs, reports and handovers to a high standard
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, schools & health professionals
  • Work 24–48 hour shifts including sleep‑ins

⭐ What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Calm, resilient and confident with challenging behaviour
  • Strong boundaries and communication skills
  • Ability to work 24–48 hour shifts including sleep‑ins
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child‑centred practice

Desirable

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
  • Understanding of trauma, attachment & EBD
  • Experience with restorative practice
  • Multi‑agency working experience
