ROLE SUMMARY


The Production Operative is responsible for carrying out all production activities, including mixing, decanting, packaging, labelling, and storage of resin-based products, in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. The role supports the daily operation of the manufacturing facility by maintaining accurate production records, adhering to quality standards, carrying out housekeeping duties, and ensuring the safe handling of raw materials and chemicals in accordance with CDG/CLP, COSHH and HSE requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Operations

Operate production machinery, equipment, and tools in line with training and written production documentation. Carry out mixing, blending, decanting, filling, and packaging of resin products to required specifications. Weigh raw materials accurately using scales and record batch data clearly and correctly. Ensure all products are labelled in accordance with company standards and CDG/CLP regulations. Transfer completed batches to designated storage or dispatch areas. Report production issues, equipment faults, or material inconsistencies promptly to the Production Manager / Operations Director.

Warehouse & Materials Handling

Assist with safe storage, movement, and organisation of raw materials and finished goods. Support unloading of incoming materials and ensure they are stored correctly and safely. Ensure stock is rotated appropriately (FIFO/FEFO) to minimise waste. Operate forklift trucks safely after receiving required training and authorisation.

Housekeeping, Waste Management & Clean Working

Maintain clean, tidy, and hazard-free production and warehouse areas at all times. Clean production vessels, tools, mixers, and equipment following safe procedures. Handle, segregate, and dispose of waste including rags, cardboard, and chemical waste as directed. Keep walkways, mixing areas, benches, and storage locations organised and free from obstructions.

Quality Assurance & Documentation Complete production documents, batch sheets, and checklists accurately and legibly. Follow quality control procedures to ensure products meet specification before release. Support QA and QC teams with sampling, testing requirements, or tracing raw materials. Identify and report deviations or non-conforming material immediately.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, company H&S policies, and COSHH requirements. Wear the correct PPE at all times and ensure safe working practices are maintained. Follow CDG/CLP guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals and ensure correct labelling. Participate in risk assessments, safety briefings, and mandatory training. Report any unsafe conditions, spillages, or incidents immediately.

General Duties

Assist colleagues across production, warehouse, quality, and operations as required. Follow company procedures at all times. Undertake any training required for the role or future development. Perform any other duties reasonably required to meet business needs.

Such other activities as directed by Line management or officers of the company, to meet the needs of the company.
