If you want to join an ambitious, proudly independent company with a fast‑moving environment, John Wainwright & Co. Ltd has a brand‑new opportunity for you.

Established in 1891, we are one of the UK’s largest independent quarrying and asphalt businesses with strong family values and a commitment to doing things the right way. As we expand into concrete and marine aggregates with our new Marchwood site on Southampton water, we’re looking for people who share our values: personal, professional, and ethical. Join a business where people come first and careers are built for the long term.

We are looking to recruit a Concrete Plant Operator to join our newly created Marchwood Team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the concrete plant, ensuring day-to-day production and site activities are carried out to the required standards. The operator will oversee the loading, handling and management of materials, maintain accurate control of stock and stockpiles, coordinate plant and operational activities, and ensure all working areas are kept safe, organised and compliant with site procedures, health and safety requirements, environmental controls and operational standards.

A strong focus on health and safety, quality, and compliance is essential, along with maintaining high housekeeping standards across the site. You will work closely with sales, logistics, and site teams to ensure the smooth movement of materials and vehicles while building positive working relationships with colleagues and drivers.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and a proactive approach. You will also support general site duties, cleaning, and basic maintenance as required.

Previous experience batching and operating a concrete plant is preferred.
