Senior HR Advisor – Partnering with People, Driving Compliance, Delivering Excellence

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our professional HR team and help drive compliance, staff development and excellent employment practices across our CQC-regulated services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys supporting their team, sharing knowledge, developing people, ensuring legal compliance and making a real difference within a values-driven organisation.

 

About the Role

Reporting to Senior Management, you will play a key role in providing expert HR advice across the business whilst mentoring and supporting members of the HR team. You will ensure our HR practices remain legally compliant and support operational managers to achieve outstanding standards expected within a CQC-regulated organisation.

The successful candidate will confidently manage a varied caseload and be capable of working independently whilst maintaining a supportive and coaching approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers across the organisation.
  • Coach, mentor and support members of the HR team to develop their knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct regular staff supervisions, performance reviews and annual appraisals.
  • Lead and advise on disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management processes.
  • Ensure all HR practices comply with current Employment Law, ACAS guidance and CQC regulations.
  • Complete workplace and individual staff risk assessments, implementing reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • Support managers with performance management and employee wellbeing.
  • Produce accurate HR documentation including investigation reports, outcome letters and management reports.
  • Monitor HR compliance including Right to Work, DBS, mandatory training and employment records.
  • Support organisational audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Level 5 CIPD qualification (minimum) or equivalent HR qualification.
  • Minimum five years’ HR experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practice.
  • Strong knowledge of Safer Recruitment
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Experience conducting:
    • Disciplinary investigations and hearings
    • Grievance processes
    • Performance management
    • Absence management
    • Staff supervisions
    • Annual appraisals
    • Risk assessments
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
  • Ability to complete individual staff risk assessments and implement support plans.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work confidentially and professionally.
  • Consistent coaching approach

 Desirable

  • Previous experience within a healthcare, social care CQC-regulated environment.
  • Experience using HR systems such as Employment Hero.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification (or working towards/ willingness to work towards).
