As an HR Advisor, you will manage your own caseload of employees, providing expert advice and guidance throughout every stage of the employee journey. From recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and compliance, you’ll help ensure our people receive a professional, supportive, and responsive HR service.
Working within a regulated health and social care environment, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safer recruitment, workforce governance, and regulatory compliance. Your attention to detail and knowledge of employment legislation, GDPR, and CQC requirements will help us keep the people we support safe while ensuring our organisation remains audit-ready and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated HR caseload, providing accurate, timely advice to managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle.
- Support employee relations processes, including probation, absence, performance, capability, disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment and onboarding in line with CQC safer recruitment standards, ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed before employment begins.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready personnel records, HR systems, and compliance trackers in line with GDPR.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, employment legislation, and internal governance standards through regular audits, monitoring, and reporting.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks, safeguarding concerns, and vetting issues appropriately.
- Deliver HR services within agreed service level agreements (SLAs), responding promptly to queries and managing competing priorities effectively.
- Work collaboratively with managers and colleagues to continuously improve HR processes, systems, and service delivery.
- Take ownership of your professional development by completing mandatory training and keeping up to date with policies and employment legislation.
Person Specification
Essential
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards qualification.
- Minimum two years’ experience in an HR Advisor or HR Officer role.
- Experience managing a varied HR caseload independently.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and case management skills.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Experience of safer recruitment, compliance, and HR auditing.
Desirable
- Experience working within a CQC-regulated health or social care environment.
- Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and safer recruitment guidance.
- Experience using HR systems and compliance/audit tracking tools.
Working Relationships
Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager (or CEO in their absence), you will work closely with Registered Managers, Operations, Quality, Finance, and external stakeholders to provide a professional, responsive, and compliant HR service across the organisation.
