What We’re Looking For

We are looking for two dedicated, reliable, and hardworking Part-Time Cleaners to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments. The successful candidates will play an important role in ensuring our school, office, and daycare facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Working as part of our facilities team, you will help create a positive environment for children, staff, visitors, and families by ensuring all areas are clean, well-presented, and safe for daily use.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitise classrooms, offices, daycare centre, toilets, kitchens, and communal areas.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors as required.
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
  • Clean windows, doors, furniture, and equipment.
  • Hoover the floor space
  • Follow health and safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored securely.
  • Carry out deep cleaning tasks during school holidays or as required.
  • Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before employment).
  • Previous cleaning experience in a school, childcare, office, or similar environment is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to identify cleaning needs and take initiative.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Willing to be a keyholder for the organisation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Experience working in environments with children and young people.
  • Understanding of infection control within regulated services.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Part-time afternoons and evenings, 20 hours a week
