Role Overview
We’re looking for a proactive, experienced Senior HR Advisor with strong recruitment expertise to support a fast-paced, high-performing environment. Ideally, you will bring experience from the motorsport industry or a similarly dynamic sector, with the ability to manage ER cases while driving end -to-end recruitment processes.
The role requires a confident communicator who can balance operational HR responsibilities with strategic hiring needs, ensuring compliance, consistency, and a high-quality employee experience across all stages of the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Provide comprehensive HR support across the business, working closely with managers and employees to deliver pragmatic advice and guidance on all aspects of HR
- Advise on employee relations matters such as disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management
- Support and coach managers through formal processes and build capability in people management
- Manage ER cases end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with employment law and company policies
- Support managers with investigations, hearings, and documentation
- Promote best practices in employee engagement, well-being, and conflict resolution
- Ensuring all people practices comply with current employment legislation and updating internal HR policies as required
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, managing the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity, effective use and continuous improvements of HR processes
- Acting as the first point of contact for managers, offering advice on staff issues, and upskilling them in best practices
- Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, such as attendance, sick leave, well-being, and return to work plans
- Reviewing and managing employee perks and benefits
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, organisation policy, and professional codes of conduct to uphold standards of practice
- Shape and deliver HR training sessions to upskill managers
- Policy development and compliance with employment law and data protection
- Responsible for overseeing HR data compliance, managing Subject Access Requests (SAR’s) from employees, and ensuring all people-related data processing meets the highest standard of legal and regulatory requirements and GDPR responsibility
Recruitment & Talent
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: from role briefing to onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, particularly for technical and specialist roles
- Build talent pipelines and source candidates through various channels, including industry networks, job boards, and direct sourcing
- Conduct interviews and coordinate assessment processes
- Ensure a smooth and professional candidate experience
- Support early careers initiatives, including work experience, placements and graduates
Employee Experience
- Own and improve onboarding to ensure effective integration and early success
- Enhance the employee journey, using feedback and data to improve engagement and retention
- Manage offboarding to ensure a positive experience
- Analyse exit feedback to identify trends and inform retention strategies
Development & Performance
- Support and evolve the performance management process
- Guide managers on performance, development and underperformance
Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Essential)
- A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards)
- Proven experience in an Employee Relations Advisor or HR Advisor role
- Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment processes end-to-end
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in motorsport or a fast-paced engineering/technical environment is highly desirable
