Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeping & Cleaning Assistant to join our small and welcoming team here at Applewood Countryside Park based in the village of Banham.

This position requires friendly, energetic and motivated candidates to maintain our high cleaning standards and values which have been recognised by our award of Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year at the 2024 East of England Tourism Awards.

This is a seasonal zero hours contract until 6th September 2026. Specific hours and days will fluctuate during peak/ off peak seasons and is dependent on bookings.

Due to the nature of the business, the successful applicant will be required to work Bank Holidays and provide holiday cover where necessary. The successful applicant must also be over the age of 18 years old as you will be lone working during the shifts.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Daily cleaning of our guest shower, toilet and laundry facilities – maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Cleaning and servicing luxury Glamping Pods and Shepherd’s Cabins – this will include bathrooms, bedrooms (including bunk beds), kitchens and living areas
  • Daily check and clean of the Games Den and Play Trail – ensuring bins are emptied, games pieces are accounted for, facilities are presentable
  • Daily cleaning of Park Reception, office/ break areas and toilet
  • Regular clean of Orchard Barn event toilets and Wash Farm toilets
  • Regular check of refuse and recycling points and pitches to ensure they are tidy and rubbish free
  • Ensuring cleaning equipment and linen cupboards are maintained and stocked at the end of each shift – including the count of used linen ahead of weekly collections and the transportation/ packing away of cleaning supplies and fresh linen deliveries
  • Cleaning of Applewood Hall following weddings and functions – servicing toilets, emptying waste bins, vacuuming, mopping
  • Undertaking routine deep cleaning tasks – pressure washing, leaf blowing, sweeping paths, carpet/ upholstery cleaning, descaling
  • Reporting any maintenance issues/ faults
  • Ensuring that the correct company image and standards are always maintained
  • Engaging guests in a friendly and professional manner

Skills required:

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • Be physically fit to do the job and work to time schedules
  • Smart, well presented with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to organise, multitask, and prioritise
  • Work well within our small team, or independently if necessary
  • Friendly, approachable with a passion for great customer service
  • Due to the rural location applicants will need access to reliable transport
