Salary: £38,000 – £50,000

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions and working on projects to improve processes. The ideal candidate will contribute to the financial health of the organisation and play a key role in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Management Accounts preparation, inc. commentary and analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Quarterly VAT returns
• Monthly payroll along with posting relevant journals
• Assist with the annual audit
• Project Management to improve processes/increase efficiencies
• Support the wider Finance team as required

Experience:

• 3+ years working in a Finance department
• Understanding of payroll principles
• Prior knowledge of VAT principles and submitting returns
• Experience working in a legal or professional services business (preferred)
• Understanding of billing by time recording (preferred)
• Experience in using Microsoft Office software products including Word & Excel

• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload, working to tight deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Qualification:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
