The Hospitality and Events Team encompasses all aspects of DUSA, spanning across the organisation to provide a welcoming environment and high-quality products for the students and public clients. The customer journey is at the heart of everything you do as part of this team and DUSA as an organisation.
The Hospitality and Events Team provides a wide range of opportunities – from the
set-up, promotion, and delivery of an event, to welcoming the customers within the food and beverage or stewarding areas of our operations to taking on projects to increase student engagement and enhance student experience.
In this role you will be expected to work in loud busy environments, you will be expected to serve alcohol and carry out manual labour as part of the role.
You will be joining a versatile team that looks after the customer journey from beginning to end, and that puts student experience at its core, with roles working across the organisation.
The Hospitality and Events Team works across many venues and different types of
Events. You will be provided with the training and the opportunity to be involved in the
various areas of the operational department.

interdisciplinary team and to follow a clear progression path monitored by training and
development supported by your on-shift Supervisors and Duty Managers.
The Role
- To provide an excellent guest experience in everything you do.
- To have good knowledge of DUSA’s services and products.
- To welcome customers at entry, serve customers, assist customers, and provide friendly customer service and a safe environment within all areas of DUSA.
- To be able to work with other organisations as agency staff.
- To provide support at functions and events, from venue set-up to the running of the event.
- Be able to build and maintain effective working relationships whilst promoting the DUSA culture and values.
- To assist staff from other departments if required and any other duties that may reasonably be expected by the management team.
- Be able to communicate with line managers if you are unsure of how to carry out any tasks.
- To prepare and serve food & drinks in line with House Rules[CG1] [CG2] , ensuring licensing compliance is adhered to.
- To provide bar/glass collection/cleaning support and general housekeeping and hygiene tasks as required.
- To take on supporting administrative tasks.
- To take active ownership in promoting student engagement by creating content around events and campaigns.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience
Customer service training or experience desirable but not essential.
Training
Training will be provided.
Hours of Work
Variable hours – No more than 20 hours per week to avoid compromising academic
commitment for students unless an exemption is granted.
The work is shift based, late nights, early mornings and weekends are to be expected within your working pattern
Salary
The role is currently paid at £12.71 per hours. Pay increases are subject to changes in the National Living Wage.
No additional payments or allowances and no contractual entitlement to overtime.
Holiday Pay
12.07% holiday pay (accrued on all hours worked), paid monthly.
