Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Talent professional to join on an interim basis (6-months) to design and implement scalable recruitment and development processes across the business.

This role will focus on building strong foundations—creating clear, consistent hiring practices and introducing development frameworks that support health & safety compliance, employee growth and retention. The successful candidate will be hands-on, delivery-focused, and comfortable building from scratch in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (Process Build + Delivery)

  • Design and implement a structured, end-to-end recruitment process, utilising Employment Hero to its full capacity
  • Introduce best practice across sourcing, interviewing, and selection
  • Create interview frameworks, scorecards, and hiring manager guidance
  • Improve candidate experience and employer branding
  • Support hiring for key roles where needed

Learning & Development (Framework Creation)

  • Build and implement a practical L&D framework aligned to business needs
  • Create and roll out fit-for-purpose inductions for both new team members and current team members in new roles
  • Create a suitable training plan in line with relevant H&S regulations
  • Support with the development of a performance framework (probations, reviews, etc.)
  • Create simple career pathways and progression guidelines
  • Identify key skill gaps and propose development solutions
  • Lead sessions to upskill internal trainers
  • Develop an apprenticeship strategy to support future talent pipelines and oversee Apprenticeship Levy utilisation
  • Assess current third-party training providers

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with leaders to understand hiring and capability needs
  • Coach managers on recruitment and development best practice
  • Drive adoption of new processes across teams

Project Delivery

  • Take ownership of delivering key milestones within the contract period
  • Prioritise high-impact areas and implement pragmatic solutions
  • Track progress and provide regular updates to leadership

 

 

Key Deliverables (What success looks like in 6 months)

  • A clear, consistent end-to-end recruitment process embedded across the business
  • Interview frameworks and hiring toolkits in place and being used
  • A simple but effective performance and development framework
  • Improved hiring manager capability and consistency

 

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Talent Acquisition and/or Talent Development roles
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment best practice and candidate experience
  • Experience designing and implementing L&D or performance frameworks
  • Comfortable working autonomously in an interim or project-based role
  • Experience in hospitality, leisure, or multi-site business
  • Experience building process from scratch
  • Experience with Employment Hero
  • Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • CIPD Level 5
  • Experience of management of Apprenticeship levy funds
  • A recognised coaching qualification would be desirable
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required
