Description

Purpose

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the department by managing the accounts payable process efficiently and accurately. This position is ideal for someone with a proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and previous experience within a finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently
  • Matching purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Handling supplier queries professionally and in a timely manner
  • Assisting with month-end finance procedures
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with administrative and accounting duties as required

About You

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role
  • Good understanding of finance and accounting procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Sage, Xero, or similar accounting systems
  • AAT qualification or currently studying towards one
