About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join one of the UK’s most highly regarded restaurants.
Located in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, this Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms celebrates the very best of Yorkshire and British produce. Working closely with a talented and passionate team, you’ll help deliver an exceptional guest experience while contributing to a kitchen that champions sustainability, regenerative farming, foraging and preservation techniques.
Awarded a Michelin Star shortly after opening, the restaurant has also been recognised in the UK’s leading restaurant guides and rankings, making this an outstanding opportunity for a chef looking to further their career at the highest level.
This role could suit an experienced Senior Sous Chef, an ambitious Junior Sous Chef, or a strong Chef de Partie looking to step into a senior leadership position within a Michelin-star environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during preparation and service
- Maintain exceptional food quality and consistency
- Work with premium seasonal ingredients sourced from leading producers
- Assist with menu development, preservation projects and ingredient preparation
- Manage stock levels, ordering and deliveries
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation are maintained at all times
- Complete due diligence records, temperature logs and stock rotation procedures
- Support training and development of junior team members
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a Michelin-starred or similarly high-level kitchen
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Passion for seasonal British produce and modern British cuisine
- Positive, professional and team-focused attitude
- High standards of food safety, cleanliness and attention to detail
- Desire to learn, develop and contribute to an ambitious culinary programme
- Comfortable working in an open kitchen environment with occasional guest interaction
- Interest in foraging, preservation and sustainable cooking techniques would be advantageous
