Average Covers:

  • Weekday Lunch: 30
  • Weekday Evening: 50
  • Weekend Lunch: 60
  • Weekend Evening: 70
  • Sunday Lunch: 70 (last orders 4pm)

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef ready to step up or an established Head Chef looking for a creative, well-supported role.

You’ll be leading the kitchen in a well-regarded, independently owned restaurant with their own gardens, working with a passionate and stable team. The business is led by a well renowned chef owner who is stepping back from day-to-day kitchen duties to focus on the wider business giving you creative ownership of the kitchen while still benefiting from their guidance.

The menu is built around fresh, seasonal, locally sourced produce, with everything prepared in-house. You’ll have the freedom to contribute your own ideas, create specials, and uphold consistently high standards.

As an independent venue, decision making is fast and flexible, with no corporate restrictions when it comes to menu development or kitchen investment.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will:

  • Lead, train, and motivate a close-knit kitchen team
  • Take ownership of menu development and seasonal specials
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Manage stock, GP, and kitchen costs
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Maintain a 5-star food hygiene rating
  • Create a positive, professional kitchen culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a Rosette-level or similar quality establishment
  • Passion for fresh, seasonal, high-quality produce
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, no-ego approach
  • Organised, calm, and confident in a busy service environment
  • A chef who enjoys developing a team and taking ownership of their kitchen
