About the role:
Job Summary:
The Lecturer will deliver high-quality instruction and engage in scholarly activities within Business Management. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, conducting tutorials or seminars, assessing student work, and contributing to curriculum development. The Lecturer will collaborate with colleagues and provide academic leadership to enhance the educational experience of students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Instruction:
o Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
o Create and update course materials and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
o Use innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning.
2. Scholarly Activities:
o Conduct research and scholarly activities in Business Management.
o Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences.
o Contribute to the advancement of knowledge and discipline.
3. Student Support and Mentoring:
o Advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters.
o Hold regular office hours for student consultation and support.
4. Curriculum Development:
o Participate in curriculum development and review processes.
o Ensure course content is current, relevant, and meets accreditation standards.
5. Service and Collaboration:
o Serve on departmental and university committees as assigned.
o Collaborate with colleagues on academic initiatives and projects.
o Contribute to the academic community through service activities.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Essential Criteria:
o A Master’s degree in a relevant business-related discipline
o Experience teaching in Higher Education, with strong digital literacy and online delivery skills
o Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
o Understanding of Higher Education quality assurance and validation processes
o A flexible, student-centred approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
o Willingness to work towards an Advance HE Fellowship (if not already achieved)
2. Desirable Criteria:
o A PhD (or close to completion), or equivalent industry experience
o Engagement in research, enterprise, or knowledge exchange activities
o A recognised teaching qualification
o Experience in leading academic modules or teams

Working Hours & Flexibility:
o Full-time: 40 hours per week
o Flexibility required – schedule may include evening and weekend work
