✨Join Us at The Centre for ADHD Research and Excellence: Shaping the Future of Accessible Healthcare✨

At CARE ADHD, we’re revolutionising private healthcare by making ADHD assessments and treatment more affordable and accessible to those who need it. Our client-centred approach, combined with lean methodology and a focus on continuous improvement, drives our commitment to excellence. We embrace an innovative mindset, encouraging rapid learning and adaptation through our ‘fail fast’ ethos. With ambitious plans to become the largest ADHD service provider outside the NHS within the next five years, we are committed to pushing boundaries and fostering innovation.

We are now looking for a Head of Contracts to influence multi-million-pound NHS income streams using independent judgement, authority and senior-level challenge.

That’s where this role comes in.

💫 Role Purpose

The Head of Contracts is a senior accountability role responsible for safeguarding and enabling Care ADHD’s NHS growth by shaping, structuring and governing contractual commitments so that they are deliverable, affordable and sustainable in practice.

The role exists to ensure that organisational ambition is translated into controlled, executable NHS agreements. It brings discipline, judgement and technical expertise to opportunity development and contracting, ensuring that assumptions are robust, risks are explicit, and commitments made externally can be delivered internally from day one.

Operating at the intersection of growth, governance and delivery, the postholder plays a critical role in protecting the organisation from financial, operational and reputational risk, while enabling credible expansion. Through strong contractual leadership, clear standards and effective assurance, the role underpins Care ADHD’s reputation as a mature, trusted and dependable NHS partner.

Why this role is important

Care ADHD operates within complex and highly variable NHS systems, each with different commissioning priorities, planning cycles, financial pressures and governance cultures.

Long-term success depends not simply on identifying opportunities, but on shaping them well — ensuring that service models stack up, activity and income assumptions are realistic, risks are understood, and commitments made externally can be delivered operationally.

This role brings senior NHS credibility, judgement and contractual leadership into those conversations. It ensures Care ADHD engages with the NHS clearly, consistently and confidently, and that growth decisions strengthen — rather than stretch — the organisation.

😎What You’ll Be Doing:

Day to Day

  • Act as the organisation-wide authority on NHS contracts
  • Review live and emerging NHS opportunities
  • Draft, review and negotiate NHS contracts
  • Translate contractual requirements into delivery and assurance expectations
  • Provide mobilisation assurance and senior escalation leadership

Contractual Leadership and Assurance

  • Set organisational standards for NHS contracting and assurance
  • Ensure commitments are clearly understood and owned
  • Interpret contractual clauses, metrics and remedies

Business Development, Contracts and Bids

  • Support opportunity shaping and procurement
  • Stress-test service models, KPIs and assumptions
  • Ensure clean transition from bid into live contract delivery

Cross-Directorate Leadership

  • Align Finance, Operations, Clinical and Governance colleagues around contractual commitments
  • Build organisational capability in managing NHS contractual risk

Accountability and Ownership

  • The Head of Contracts is accountable for the quality, clarity and robustness of all NHS contracts, including associated performance, reporting and risk management.

Return on Investment

  • This role prevents undeliverable or loss-making contracts, reduces remediation and escalation activity, enables safe mobilisation of new NHS work and protects Care ADHD’s reputation.

Essential experience:

  • Senior NHS or NHS-facing contractual experience
  • Strong understanding of NHS contracts and assurance mechanisms
  • Credibility with commissioners and senior stakeholders

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Evidenced influencing skills
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Over 5 years experience within a similar role, of the same level

🙏🏻What You Can Expect from Us

A pivotal opportunity to shape how contractual commitments are made, governed and delivered at scale, helping to build an organisation the NHS trusts to do what it says it will do.
