Role Overview:
The Reporting Analyst will lead operational and management reporting across the group, owning dashboards, KPI frameworks, and ad-hoc analysis. The role plays a key part in transforming data into trusted insights, enabling better decision-making, supporting regulatory requirements, and reducing manual reporting effort across the organisation.
This role will work heavily with Power BI and Azure Data Factory, collaborating closely with Business Analysts, operational and commercial teams, Support Services teams, and the wider Data & Analytics team to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, well‑defined, governed, and aligned with business needs.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for operational, tactical, and management audiences.
- Monitor dashboard performance, data refreshes, and data quality, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Develop and maintain KPI frameworks, ensuring metrics are clearly defined, consistent, and aligned across the organisation.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting requests, translating business questions into meaningful insights.
- Work with data engineers and technical teams to consume well-structured datasets, including those delivered via Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Support validation of new datasets and reporting models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.
- Understand upstream data flows sufficiently to troubleshoot data issues and support continuous improvement.
- Work closely with all teams across the business to understand their requirements, user stories, and reporting needs.
- Translate documented business requirements into clear reporting specifications, ensuring metrics, logic, and assumptions are agreed and understood.
- Support Business Analysts during discovery and change initiatives by providing data insight, feasibility input, and reporting impact assessments.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring reporting outputs align with both business intent and data realities.
- Participate in workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and review meetings to refine reporting solutions iteratively.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and well governed reporting to support Finance activities including budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and maintain finance aligned KPIs (e.g. cost, revenue, margin, and variance), ensuring consistency with agreed definitions and accounting principles.
- Provide financial analysis and insight through Power BI dashboards and ad hoc reports, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable information.
- Work closely with Finance stakeholders to validate figures and ensure confidence in management, regulatory, and month end reporting outputs.
- Ensure transparency, auditability, and traceability of financial data through clear documentation and agreed reporting logic.
- Own and maintain the data dictionary and metric definitions, ensuring a single, trusted source of truth.
- Document reporting logic, data sources, transformations, and assumptions to support auditability and transparency.
- Handle operational support requests, including regulatory and compliance reporting.
- Manage and update reporting tasks, issues, and enhancements using Monday.com / Jira, ensuring visibility and prioritisation.
You will need:
- Experience in Power BI reporting and data visualisation.
- Awareness or hands-on exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including concepts such as One Lake, Lakehouse, Warehouses, and semantic models.
- Experience with or understanding of Dataflows Gen2 / Dataflows for ingesting, transforming, and orchestrating data within Fabric or Power BI.
- Awareness or working knowledge of Azure Data Factory and modern data platforms.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Business Analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Confident in explaining reports, metrics, and insights to non-technical audiences.
- Organised and methodical approach to documentation, issue tracking, and workload management.
