Role Overview:

The Regional Fleet Manager acts as a strategic business partner to operational teams, ensuring the fleet delivers maximum value through cost-efficient, safe, and reliable performance. This role is accountable for optimising fleet utilisation, controlling operational spend, and aligning fleet strategy with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with regional operations to align fleet performance with business goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on fleet-related decisions, balancing cost, service, and risk.
  • Translate operational requirements into fleet strategies that improve efficiency and support growth.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive value and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in fleet utilisation, availability, and productivity across the region.
  • Implement data-led initiatives to reduce downtime, improve routing efficiency, and optimise asset deployment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for process optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards while maintaining operational performance.
  • Own and manage the regional fleet ensuring tight control over operating costs.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives across maintenance, fuel, leasing, and lifecycle management.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure value for money.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes with accurate fleet data and insights.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet assets, from acquisition to disposal.
  • Ensure the right asset mix is in place to meet operational needs at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Drive initiatives around sustainability, including fuel efficiency and transition to alternative energy vehicles where appropriate.
  • Ensure all fleet activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and reduce risk through proactive management and training initiatives.
  • Monitor incident trends and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risk.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transport operations within a multi-site environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering cost savings.
  • Experience operating as a business partner, influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of fleet compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
