We are currently looking for a Buyer to join our procurement team in Crawley.

Role Overview:

To manage the procurement of goods, works, and services required for the delivery and maintenance of social housing properties, ensuring value for money, regulatory compliance, and high-quality outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure cost-effective contracts for materials and services (e.g., repairs, maintenance, construction).
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories across both regions
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including tendering, supplier selection, and contract award.
  • Tender and negotiate pricing terms to achieve best commercial value.
  • Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.
  • Work closely with internal teams (asset management, finance, maintenance teams) to forecast demand and plan procurement activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Support sustainability and social value initiatives within procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to understand demand for forecast requirements

You Will Need:

  • Experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within social housing, construction, or public sector.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations (e.g., UK Public Contracts Regulations).
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Good financial and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems.
