CanDo Laundry Services is looking for a practical and reliable Facilities Assistant to support general upkeep at our Kenfig factory. This is a zero-hours role, ideal for someone who is confident carrying out basic site maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, replacing lightbulbs, and keeping the facility safe, tidy and well maintained.

Role Purpose

The Facilities Assistant will support the general upkeep and appearance of the Kenfig factory by carrying out basic maintenance and handyman-style tasks across the site. The role is intended to help ensure the facility remains safe, tidy, functional, and well presented for employees, visitors, and operational needs.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who can work safely, follow instructions, and complete small facilities tasks to a good standard.

Key Responsibilities

General Site Maintenance

• Carry out basic maintenance tasks around the factory as directed.

• Complete painting and touch-up work as required.

• Replace lightbulbs where safe and appropriate to do so.

• Carry out minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, and general site areas.

• Report any faults, damage, hazards, or maintenance concerns to management.

• Support with keeping communal and working areas tidy, safe, and presentable.

Health and Safety

• Carry out all duties safely and in line with company procedures.

• Use ladders, steps, tools, and equipment safely and only where trained or competent to do so.

• Report any unsafe conditions, defects, or concerns immediately.

• Ensure work areas are left clean, tidy, and safe after completing tasks.

• Follow company instructions regarding personal protective equipment where required.

• Do not carry out electrical, plumbing, or specialist maintenance work unless authorised, competent, and permitted to do so.

Operational Support

• Work around production areas with care and awareness of operational activity.

• Complete tasks with minimal disruption to production.

• Assist with small facilities-related jobs as requested by management.

• Support the site during busy periods or when additional practical help is required.

Tools, Equipment and Materials

• Use company tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.

• Keep tools and materials safe, tidy, and stored appropriately.

• Inform management when materials or supplies are needed.

• Avoid waste and use company resources appropriately.
