Description

We are pleased to say that our student jobs are not like any other – no Friday or weekend shifts, 10am–4pm or half shifts, and flexible around your studies.

You’ll be the first point of contact at our helpdesks across UAL campuses, handling enquiries from students, staff and external organisations — face-to-face, online and over the phone. You’ll manage post and parcels, support our retail and merchandise operations, maintain our spaces, and coordinate with teams across all our campuses.

It’s varied work: one minute you’re helping to solve a student’s problem, the next you’re processing a merch order or flagging a health and safety issue. This role allows you to help other students navigate their university experience with a friendly and familiar face.

Being a Front of House Assistant develops skills that will support you in your creative careers – problem solving, confidence dealing with different people, organisational systems, and interactions with external stakeholders.

The role is flexible, offering up to 20 hours a week to fit around your studies. No early rises, no late finishes. Shifts are agreed depending on your availability, which we know changes throughout the terms.

We’re looking for someone with organisational skills, open communication style and

A collaborative spirit is important as Front of House Assistants work together as a team.

Future Font of House Assistants will have initiative, suggest improvements, and follow processes — knowing when to stick to what works and when to push for something better.

We would like applicants to have an eye for detail, able to prioritise multiple tasks, and take initiative to problem solving but aren’t afraid to ask for support from the wider team.

Why apply?

Because you’re excited by the challenge and are looking to develop useful skills (admin, customer service, problem-solving, collaborative work across teams). These can be added to your CV at the same time as seeing the direct impact of what you do on student life at UAL.

On top of this, you’ll be working with people who care about what they do!
