Summary:

The Maintenance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of properties within our housing portfolio in Birmingham. This permanent, full-time position is essential for maintaining high standards of living conditions for our residents, contributing to the overall success of our property management operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report on the status of repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and address issues in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of maintenance budgets and manage costs effectively.
• Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out to a high standard and in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the property and housing sector.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
• Relevant qualifications in maintenance or a related field would be advantageous.
