Summary:

The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our Health & Safety organisation in St Albans. This permanent, full-time position is designed for an individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for finance, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting in the smooth running of financial processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our financial team, helping to uphold our commitment to excellence in health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Support the finance team in daily financial operations
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Assist with payroll processing and related tasks
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as required
  • Respond to financial inquiries from staff and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • A-levels or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the health and safety sector
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
