Help customers make the switch to renewable energy
At 21 Degrees, we’re helping homeowners make their homes more energy efficient, comfortable and sustainable through renewable energy and low-carbon technologies.
As a Sales Surveyor, you’ll be one of the key people guiding our customers through that journey. You’ll visit customers in their homes, understand what they’re looking to achieve, assess their property and recommend practical renewable energy solutions.
You’ll combine customer service, sales and technical surveying, working closely with our sales, design and installation teams to ensure customers receive the right solution from the outset.
Our solutions include Solar PV, Battery Storage, Air Source Heat Pumps, Ground Source Heat Pumps, EV Charging and Underfloor Heating.
What you’ll be doing
- Visiting customers in their homes to understand their energy needs, requirements and expectations.
- Carrying out detailed site surveys for renewable energy installations.
- Assessing properties and identifying potential installation constraints, obstructions and practical considerations.
- Identifying suitable locations for equipment and discussing options with customers.
- Considering cable routes and connections between solar panels, inverters, batteries and the property’s electrical supply.
- Gathering accurate measurements, photographs and technical information required to develop a proposal.
- Using plans and survey information to support the design and specification of renewable energy systems.
- Completing or supporting heat loss calculations and energy generation assessments where required.
- Explaining proposed systems, designs and recommendations clearly to customers.
- Producing accurate quotations and ensuring proposals reflect the customer’s requirements and the property’s suitability.
- Following up quotations and helping to progress sales opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with customers throughout the sales and survey process.
- Ensuring all sales and survey documentation is accurate and complete before projects are handed over to Operations.
- Liaising closely with Surveyors, Technical Managers, Suppliers, Designers and Installation Teams.
- Using CRM and business systems to maintain accurate customer records and manage sales and survey activity.
- Supporting continuous improvement of the customer journey and helping us deliver a consistently high level of service.
- Developing your knowledge across our wider renewable energy offering and supporting different technologies as required.
- Working predominantly within a reasonable geographical area around your branch.
We’re looking for someone who has
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, sales, surveying or technical role.
- An interest in renewable energy and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of Solar PV, Battery Storage or Heat Pump systems.
- The ability to understand and explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- A practical, methodical approach to problem solving.
- The ability to manage multiple customers, surveys and sales opportunities at different stages.
- Confidence using CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.
- A proactive, positive and commercially aware approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience within the renewable energy, construction or building services industry.
- Previous experience designing or specifying renewable energy systems.
- Experience completing heat loss calculations or energy generation reports.
- A Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification.
- Experience with Solar PV and battery storage.
- Experience with Air Source or Ground Source Heat Pumps.
- Previous sales, account management or estimating experience.
- Experience producing quotations for technical products or services.
