Description

Tritium designs and manufactures DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, the hardware that keeps the world’s EVs moving. From compact urban chargers to high-power highway stations, our products are deployed across six continents. Based in our UK operations, this role sits at the heart of building and testing the electronics that go into every unit we ship.

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled Assembly Technician with a solid electronics manufacturing background to join our Spare Parts team. You’ll assemble, test, and rework electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies to engineering specifications: working from schematics, wire lists, and SOPs in a structured ISO 9001 environment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision work. You’ll be building components that end up in fast-charging infrastructure used by drivers every day, so quality and attention to detail really matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical components to SOPs and quality standards
  • Read and work from electrical schematics, point-to-point wire lists, and wiring diagrams
  • Solder components using hand soldering equipment; carry out rework and repair to approved methods
  • Conduct diagnostic testing of assembled goods and record results
  • Perform modifications and reworks in line with quality requirements
  • Support Engineering and Manufacturing Engineers in setting up new assembly processes
  • Install electrical and electronic hardware in housings and assemblies
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and contribute to a culture of quality
  • Adhere to ISO, Health & Safety, and environmental procedures

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly including PCB assembly, through-hole, wiring harnesses
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Confident using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and torque wrenches
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality in an ISO 9001 environment
  • Good communicator with a team-oriented approach and the ability to flag issues promptly
  • Dexterous, with the ability to work precisely on small or complex components

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, City & Guilds, or equivalent apprenticeship
  • Experience working to IPC or similar electronics assembly standards
  • Familiarity with ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions and controlled environments
  • Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment
