Description

Highly respected high voltage (HV) power engineering consultancy and experts in design for projects from 11kV up to 132kV, have a requirement for a Protection Design Engineer. This opportunity is a permanent role, which is available on a hybrid (or potentially fully remote) basis.

Most of the schemes will be in electricity power distribution (11kV – 132kV) on behalf of Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). Responsibilities will include:

  • Design of protection and control schemes for HV substations
  • Production of protection and main connection drawings
  • Calculation of protection settings
  • Using AutoCAD to produce schematics
  • Power systems design / analysis

To be considered, previous experience as a Control and Protection Design Engineer is essential (11kV, 33kV, 66kV, 132kV voltage levels), along with a demonstrable appreciation of power supplies, substations, cables and overhead lines. It would be advantageous to have awareness of National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) / Electricity Network Regulations and DNO / Grid Codes for protection settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a great team of friendly, knowledgeable industry experts with decades of experience to share.
