Description

Digital Construction and Innovation CoordinatorThe Digital Construction Reality Capture & Survey Specialist is a hands-on, field-focused role at the intersection of construction, surveying, drones, LiDAR, laser scanning, and BIM. Using advanced reality-capture technologies, this position transforms real-world site conditions into accurate, actionable digital information that supports coordination, QA/QC, progress validation, as-built documentation, and model-based decision-making. Working closely with Digital Construction, field operations, survey, quality, safety, project controls, and trade partners, this role helps identify issues earlier, reduce project risk, improve installation quality, and give project teams greater confidence in what is being built.

What You Will Be Working On

Key responsibilities include:

1. Reality Capture & Drone Operations

· Plan and complete terrestrial laser scanning, drone-based LiDAR, photogrammetry, aerial documentation, and other reality-capture activities supporting progress monitoring, verification, and as-built requirements.

· Execute field captures in accordance with project requirements, construction activities, site access, weather constraints, safety procedures, and applicable drone regulations.

· Coordinate with survey teams to confirm that suitable control points, benchmarks, scan targets, and site references are available for accurate and repeatable capture workflows.

· Register, process, organize, and manage point cloud files, imagery, and reality-capture datasets, including priority processing when required.

2. Model Validation & QA/QC

· Compare captured field conditions against design models, coordination models, construction documents, and approved project requirements to verify installed work and model accuracy.

· Collaborate with Digital Construction and Quality teams to prepare model-versus-reality QA/QC reports that identify deviations from established project tolerances and requirements with appropriate team members.

· Document discrepancies between installed work, coordinated models, and construction documentation, and escalate findings through the appropriate coordination or QA/QC channels.

· Support measurable installation verification, including location, alignment, elevation, plumbness, and clearances, where applicable.

3. Progress & Construction Intelligence

· Produce aerial progress imagery, timelapse content, site visuals, and reality-capture reporting to support project controls, planning, logistics, and stakeholder communication.

· Validate progress by comparing captured conditions against planned work, model-based information, schedule milestones, and construction sequencing where applicable.

· Provide field verification data for coordination meetings, constructability reviews, issue resolution, and model-based decision-making.

4. Digital Construction Technology & Innovation

· Manage and support on-site Digital Construction technology, including drones, laser scanners, iPads, field-viewing systems, Revizto-enabled displays, and other approved project tools.

· Maintain equipment so it remains secure, properly stored, maintained, and operationally ready, and provide field-level guidance to project teams using the technology and its outputs.

· Support the rollout and adoption of project-level Digital Construction initiatives that leverage LiDAR, point clouds, photogrammetry, BIM, and field-generated data to improve project delivery.

· Identify opportunities to expand reality capture, model validation, progress tracking, logistics support, QA/QC, visual documentation, and field technology adoption.

· Maintain organized and traceable records of scans, point clouds, drone captures, verification results, QA/QC outputs, and related Digital Construction documentation.

· Coordinate with site operations, quality, safety, survey, project controls, and trade partners so capture activities align with construction priorities and do not disrupt site operations.
