Definition of work:

The primary responsibilities of this position will involve the assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for individuals with mental health, substance use and concurrent disorders. The role will involve providing specialized assessment (psychometric) and intensive clinical interventions to children, youth, seniors and adults. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and be supportive of the interdisciplinary team’s goals and objectives as well as research and evidence-based practice. This position will be expected to provide coverage for the doorways program and other related duties as required. Regional travel may be required. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:

* Master’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

* Registered or eligible for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Examiners in Psychology.

* Two (2) years of clinical experience within the last five (5) years in Mental Health and Addictions.

* Demonstrated strong knowledge of psychological interventions, DSM-IV, assessment, clinical interventions, interpersonal relationships, interdisciplinary team collaboration, leadership, and communication.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently.

* Satisfactory Child, Youth and Family Services Records Check.

* Use of a private vehicle and valid driver’s license are a condition of employment.

* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
