We’re looking for a Supervisor to support our restaurant teams at Tong Garden Centre; a vibrant, relaxed dining destination known for hearty meals, family favourites, and our much-loved cake selection.

Our restaurants, including The Mezzanine and Blooms, offering a great family experience where guests can enjoy everything from light bites and homemade seasonal dishes to indulgent afternoon teas, cakes, and drinks throughout the day. It’s a place where people come to unwind and where great teams make that happen.

The Role

As Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations and ensuring every customer has a fantastic experience. You’ll lead by example, inspire your team, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, hardworking team that takes pride in delivering great service and getting stuck in together.

Working hours: We have an element of flexibility for the right candidate. We are looking for someone to work at least two week days and alternate weekends, and can offer at least 28 hours a week. If you are looking for both weekend working – we can also accomodate this. We’d love to chat about the hours more with the you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the catering area
  • Ensure customers consistently receive high standards of service, handling any issues in line with company procedures
  • Monitor team performance to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Lead, train, and develop the team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain strong awareness of operations across the catering area and step in where needed
  • Delegate tasks effectively, focusing on leading the team while supporting during peak times
  • Motivate the team to resolve issues independently, keeping management informed when needed
  • Ensure food quality is delivered to GREAT standards in a timely manner
  • Drive and maintain high operational and service standards across the team
  • Coach and develop team members across all areas of their role
  • Support rota management, including holidays, sickness, and attendance
  • Communicate company updates, objectives, and key information to the team
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to improve individual and team performance

  • Experience in a catering or hospitality environment (supervisory experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised in a busy setting
