Job Title: Registered Nurse (Registered RGN or Learning Disability Nurse)
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum
Location: Isle of Wight
Hours: 37.5 (office hours with some out of hours work, including weekends, depending on needs of business)
The Role
This is a highly autonomous position where you will take the clinical lead across a portfolio of individuals, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will work closely with support teams, providing clinical oversight, guidance, and leadership, while completing comprehensive nursing assessments and care planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake holistic nursing assessments (physical, emotional, social, and wellbeing)
- Develop and review person-centred care plans
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership to support staff teams
- Complete clinical audits, reports, and documentation
- Support staff with training, guidance, and competency development
- Lead on best interest decisions and MCA processes
- Monitor and improve health outcomes and quality of care
Clinical Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for a registered nurse with strong experience in complex health care, medical nursing and / or learning disabilities.
Essential skills include:
- Airway management
- Nutritional and enteral support
- Continence and elimination management
- Neurological and medication skill
- Advanced monitoring and tissue viability
- Experience in End-of-life care
Advantageous:
- Communication and behavioural support
- Advocacy and legal clinical frameworks
- Multidisciplinary coordination
About You
- You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
- Strong clinical background in complex and / or long-term health conditions
- Confident working independently and autonomously with excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
- Passionate about person-centred care, particularly within learning disability and/or older adult care
- Excellent assessment, documentation, and report-writing skills
- Able to lead, influence, and support staff teams
- Must have good resilience, adaptability and stress management capabilities
- Driver and have access to own vehicle
- Able to work across all possible shift patterns in order to to provide effective leadership and support
