Reports To:  Head of Marketing & Acquisition 

Embrace’s Fundraising & Communications cluster comprises expertise in fundraising, marketing, communication, web shop, supporter engagement and retention. Working collaboratively, we serve our supporters by providing authentic and engaging communications, inspiring active social witnesses, engagement and giving to Embrace.

Cluster Purpose:  

Strengthen Embrace’s communication, education, and fundraising efforts to drive growth so that more people engage with our content; more donors are attracted to support; and the UK church is more deeply engaged with the cause; enabling us to fund more work in the region and generate a deeper understanding of Christian service in the Middle East. 

Role Purpose:  

Manage end-to-end delivery of digital marketing campaigns – including planning, execution, and optimisation – as part of Embrace’s acquisition strategy. Provide subject matter expertise and execute the digital marketing aspects of project briefs commissioned by internal teams, ensuring effective and insight-led digital approaches that support their objectives. Coordinate with Fundraising & Communications teams and external partners to ensure campaigns drive donor acquisition and scalable growth. Act as the digital lead, championing a ‘digital-first’ approach across projects, and working with Shared Services on data and systems to enable a transition to marketing that is digital by default.   

What success looks like:  

Digital campaigns delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with acquisition strategy.  Key Performance targets achieved or exceeded (e.g. donor acquisition volume, conversion rates, ROI).  Strong collaboration with Fundraising & Communications colleagues and external partners.  A ‘digital-first’ mindset embedded across fundraising and marketing projects and teams.  Campaigns informed by data and analytics, with regular reporting and optimisation.  Clear progress toward marketing being digital by default, including adoption of new tools and processes and managing risk.   

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Campaign Project Management:  

  • Working with Embrace’s digital partner, deliver digital marketing campaigns end-to-end, maintaining detailed campaign schedules from briefing → testing → launch, ensuring all activity goes live on time and to specification.  
  • Manage campaign budgets, track spend, ensure cost effectiveness with clear benchmarked ROI across all digital channels.  
  • Work with Content & Communications Team to secure all required assets, content, and approvals to meet campaign objectives.  
  • Identify and escalate risks to timelines or budgets, proposing solutions to keep campaigns on track.  
  • Ensure digital marketing activity aligns with Embrace’s acquisition strategy, brand-style and wider organisational objectives. 
  • Strengthen and maintain Embrace’s digital presence through co-ordinated paid advertising, SEO, social media, and organic content in collaboration with the Content & Communications team.   

Cross-Team Collaboration:  

  • Champion digital-first thinking within project teams, ensuring integrated communications and fundraising strategies. 
  • Partner with Fundraising colleagues to understand goals, audiences, supporter journeys, and product propositions.
  • Provide expert advice to improve the effectiveness of Embrace digital approach (inc. on paid social, email journeys, landing pages, use video).  
  • Translate fundraising objectives into digital marketing plans with clear deliverables, targeting, and success measures.  
  • Ensure digital activity integrates with offline and broader marketing, including retention and journeys Work closely with Fundraising & Communications colleagues and external partners to maximise campaign impact.  

Curate high-performing content: 

  • Co-develop compelling acquisition messaging Calls to Action (CTA) and content—stories, images, videos, copy—for digital channels on both the charity website and Embrace’s Web Shop. 
  • Tailor content to platforms, audiences, and campaign objectives. 
  • Provide insight on best-performing formats and guide asset creation to improve engagement and conversion. 
  • Align storytelling with brand voice and the lived experiences of Middle East Christians  

Digital Channel Management & Data analytics: 

  • Provide clear briefs and audience insights to the digital agency; review creative, A/B tests, and optimisation plans. 
  • Partner with the external web developer to create and optimise landing pages for maximum conversion. 
  • Monitor paid media across all platforms; ensure best practice and compliance with fundraising and data standards. 
  • Work with CRM and Systems manager to ensure analytics are clear and correct campaign data is being captured.  
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations; maintain accurate tracking, measurement, and attribution. 
  • Ensure channel activity reflects best practice, adheres to fundraising and data protection standards, Embrace’s values, and tone of voice.  
  • Ensure tracking, measurement, and attribution models are accurate and consistently applied.

Person specification 

Essential:Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge: 

  • Proven experience managing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns end-to-end.  
  • Hands-on expertise with paid media platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, YouTube), SEO, and social media.  
  • Strong knowledge of analytics tools (dashboards) and data-driven optimisation.  
  • Experience with conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and A/B testing.  
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms.  
  • Solid understanding of GDPR, fundraising standards, and digital best practice.  
  • Budget management and resource planning experience.  
  • Managing 3rd party relationships – fundraising, digital marketing, web-developers.   
  • Understanding of supporter/customer engagement and retention tactics and successfully applied to digital marketing campaign, 
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Digital Media, or related field.  

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong experience in digital campaign management (paid, organic, SEO, social).  
  • Skilled in project planning, execution, and deadline management to achieve strategic goals.  
  • Proficiency with Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, CRM systems, and analytics tools.  
  • Ability to interpret data and optimise campaigns for performance.  
  • Skilled in budget management, scheduling, and risk mitigation.  
  • Excellent stakeholder and agency management. Knowledge of GDPR, fundraising standards, and digital best practices. 
  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and A/B testing.

Desirable Criteria   Good understanding of the UK church, across many denominations.   PRINCE2 or equivalent.   Professional certifications (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Blueprint)
