Role Overview:

We are looking for a fully qualified Electrical Compliance Manager to join our CARDO (Scotland) operations team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the day to day management of our electrical compliance service delivery across Scotland whilst supporting our teams of electrical qualifying supervisors and electricians with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. A strong focus on customer service and problem-solving is essential.

Working closely with our electrical teams that span across Scotland, you will ensure that we continue to deliver an excellent electrical compliance service that delivers an effective, efficient, productive and compliant electrical service.

You will also be a Qualifying Supervisor for our Group NICEIC Accreditation, primarily re-sponsible for the EQS role within our Scotland region, you will also provide cross cover to other areas of the business during peak demand and absence. You will be the “Go To Per-son” for our various MCS accreditations as we continue to expand our offering of providing an unrivalled service delivering heat pump, solar thermal hot water, solar PV and battery storage across the UK for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for all electrical compliance matters across our array of varying and diverse contracts, ensuring accreditations are adhered to and maintained.
  • Obtaining and maintaining calibration certificates for testing equipment and ensuring they are continuously up to date and maintained.
  • To review, validate and sign off on engineer testing, servicing and commissioning documentation prior to them being submitted to the client.
  • To develop and maintain positive relationships internally and externally and to promote the CARDO brand and its subsidiary companies by actively increasing awareness.
  • To be the “Go-To” person within CARDO in relation to all things Electrical, Energy Technology, Mechanical and Heating.
  • Ensure that work activities being delivered by our in-house electricians and sub-contractors are being supervised in a legally compliant way, and that all legal, compliance, safety, operational and commercials risks relating to the works are identified, and duly mitigated, ensuring that the company is fully protected.
  • Providing a strong technical function by identifying and where required, delivering training, support, and coaching to staff.
  • Ensure that all training and accreditations are updated and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  • Provide an excellent technical service across the business that provides a pro-active approach, trust, and support across all branches operating areas.
  • Advising and training staff on best practices.
  • Ensure all work complies with local and national regulations, ACoP’s, Best Practice and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other managers & supervisors as needed for comprehensive service.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Act as the custodian and responsible person for all electrical related accreditation and memberships.
  • Carry out and record Quality Control Inspections on work in progress and post works, identifying any non-compliances, liaising and arranging for these to be rectified and oversee through to completion.
  • Provide technical support, guidance and assistance to client, DLO operatives and supply chain partners.
  • Be the technical and compliance lead for our MCS accreditation primarily in the South/South East Regions, however, this may expand in time across the business area.
  • Conduct technical audits across the businesses Easy MCS system and projects to ensure that compliance is being adhered to at all times in accordance with the requirements of our MCS accreditations.

You Will Need:

  • Fully qualified time served electrical qualification to a minimum standard of Level 3.
  • 18TH Edition, current amendment (2382-22) level 3 award
  • A valid SMSTS/SSSTS qualification
  • Thorough working knowledge of the current electrical regulations
  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills
  • Committed to providing Quality Workmanship
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Full driving license
  • A minimum of 3-years industry experience preferably within a manageri-al/supervisory role
  • Strong experience and skills at problem solving with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written.
  • Computer literate, proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and email (Microsoft word, Visio, Excel and Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines. Effective in performing well under pressure.
  • An appreciation of data protection and confidentiality

  • Professional attitude.
  • Understanding of the construction industry, preferably within the Social Housing sector.
