Job Title: Assessment Officer
Reports to: Quality Assurance and Delivery Manager
Salary: £29,000 – £31,000 a year (depending on experience)
Location: Hybrid (min of 2 days per week in the Leeds Office)

The individual will provide operational, system and administrative support with the 1st4sport team relating to assessment activity, including examinations, contractors, and associated processes and systems to support the achievement of its regulatory compliance, strategic objectives, and
budgetary targets.
Responsible for
Quality assurance and assessment:
- Quality and accurate data reporting, including regulatory requests for information, leading on the sourcing of data for all required data returns and reports.
- Operate the delivery of relevant internal and external quality assurance activities, including (but not limited to), EPA assessments, training provider monitoring, EQA annual visits and monitoring and moderation, CASS (DCS), Appeals and Malpractice.
- Lead on the function for external set assessments. Overseeing assessment activity, the creation of assessments, scheduling and booking of assessments, the review assessment question banks, maintain security of assessments, Invigilation checks.
- Oversee monitoring of assessments marking, analyse assessment question mark usage and achievement rates, release results of assessments, set dates of assessment, Regulatory
reporting of assessment activity, assessment communications and invoicing for assessment
activity (resits)
- Report on assessment activities, trends, themes, issues and concerns in a timely manner with solutions and actions to be taken
- Undertake checks and audits on ongoing compliance of assessment activities,
- Maintain, support, and review the accuracy of data, including product set up and configuration,
customer set up and configuration, in systems.
- Provide support in maintaining, reviewing and utilizing risk management activities to support regulatory compliance and business continuity.
- Identifying recommendations or safeguards to prevent human error and ensure a consistent and coherent delivery approach is embedded across centres and lead training providers to prevent potential malpractice or maladministration.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues during the application for centre recognition, lead training provider approval, qualification approval and endorsement services.
Stakeholder engagement
- Provide support and information to colleagues on operational areas relating to the assessment of 1st4sport regulated products
- Liaise with key stakeholders including recognised centres, training providers and contractors on assessments and queries.
- Participate and occasionally leading information/standardisation events with recognised centres, training providers, partners and coaches.
- Support colleagues in the process of determining Reasonable Adjustment, Special Consideration and RPL requests received from stakeholders for qualifications and end point assessments.
Team management and performance
- Undertake the recruitment, onboarding and contracting of external contractors as directed.
- Commission and contract external contractors to undertake assessment activities, including reviews of work undertaken, reporting and processing of payments.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records within the system of all contractors, activities and training.
Other
- Undertake other duties as required to support the work of 1st4sport and UK Coaching Solutions.
- Follow, promote and implement UK Coaching policies for the equal treatment of all employees, applicants and customers.

Essential:
- Good level of digital literacy including Microsoft packages
- Experience of working in operational systems delivery
- Experience within a learning and/or assessment functions
- The ability to learn quickly.

- Understanding of education regulations
- Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills

Desirable:
- Experience working for an awarding body and/or training provider.
- Experience administering or coordinating examinations and assessments.
- Experience working with online assessment / portfolio platforms such as Moodle or a learning management system.
