Seasonal Retail Assistant

Location: Tingley Garden Centre

Hours: We’re looking for a flexible Retail Assistant who would be willing to cover each other if needed, 10am – 4:30pm, every Sunday

Contract: Temporary 4th April 2026 – 31st May 2026

We’re looking for two enthusiastic Seasonal Retail Assistants to join our team during one of our busiest and most exciting times of the year – 🌺🌼🌷bedding season🌻🪻🌹.

As the weather improves, we welcome a surge of customers looking for Easter treats, bedding plants, garden furniture, barbecues and more. To help us deliver a fantastic customer experience during this peak period, we’re looking for extra support on the shop floor.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing a warm, friendly welcome to every customer
• Supporting customers on the tills and ensuring a smooth checkout experience
• Offering advice and answering customer queries
• Assisting customers with delivery options
• Keeping the shop floor and displays clean, tidy and well presented
• Restocking plants and products, ensuring attractive merchandising displays
• Watering and feeding plants to maintain high standards
• Supporting across multiple departments as needed
• Processing deliveries, including unloading, labelling and moving stock to the shop floor
• Ensuring stock is rotated, checked and displayed in line with retail standards
• Handling customer concerns professionally and escalating where needed
• Following all health & safety procedures, including safe manual handling and use of PPE
• Supporting accurate stock counts and inventory processes

• A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
• Confidence in interacting with customers and delivering great service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• A good eye for detail and presentation
• Someone who can use their initiative and work independently when needed
• Physically able to move stock and assist with displays
