Hours: Part-time – 18 hours per week
Friday 9.30-4, Saturday 10-4.30 and Sunday 9.30-4 every week

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team and deliver an outstanding customer experience on the shop floor. You’ll be the welcoming face of our store, supporting customers, keeping displays looking their best, and helping the business run smoothly day to day.
🛒 What you’ll be doing
No two days are the same! Your key responsibilities will include:
- Greeting and welcoming every customer with a smile
- Providing helpful product advice, answering questions, and highlighting special offers
- Operating tills accurately and efficiently, ensuring a smooth checkout experience
- Keeping the shop floor clean, tidy and well‑presented
- Restocking shelves and maintaining attractive, shoppable displays
- Supporting deliveries – from warehouse handling to safe and appealing shop‑floor displays
- Creating eye‑catching merchandising displays
- Working flexibly across all departments within the Garden Centre
- Handling customer complaints professionally, escalating when appropriate
- Following health & safety procedures at all times, including manual handling and PPE use
- Carrying out accurate stock counts to help maintain availability
✅ What you’ll be accountable for
- Delivering excellent customer service and minimising complaints
- Maintaining accurate tills and stock records
- Ensuring displays are attractive, safe and well maintained
- Replenishing stock promptly and safely
- Adhering to all health & safety standards
- Continually developing your product and service knowledge

You don’t need to know everything on day one – attitude matters most. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- An interest in learning about products and giving confident advice
- A good eye for merchandising and presentation
- Basic sales skills and a proactive approach
- A positive, team‑focused mindset
- Flexibility to support different departments as needed
