We’re currently hiring multiple Seasonal Catering Assistants to join our team at Blooms Café & Restaurant at Otley Garden Centre. As we head into one of our busiest times of the year 🌼🌷bedding season🌹🌻 Otley becomes one of our most popular centres for plant lovers. To help support the increased footfall, we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic team players who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in!

 

Working hours: Flexible up to 30 hours per week

Working days: Flexible but needs to include at least 1 weekend day per week.

Contract: Multiple roles available, temporary, seasonal

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a Catering Assistant your role includes but is not limited to these duties:

• Welcoming and seating customers

• Taking customer orders

• Assist with menu and beverage recommendations

• Preparing and serving beverage and food orders

• Setting tables

• Cash handling

• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner

• Cleaning tables and removing used cutlery

• Communicating effectively with the kitchen and staff members

• Reporting to shifts on time in impeccable uniform.

 

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

Ideally, we are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in a catering environment – (preferable but not mandatory).

• Has previous experience using a barista machine – (preferable but not mandatory)

• Friendly and sociable.

• Good attention to detail

• Willingness to learn new skills

• Is flexible to work additional shifts and weekends if required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of restaurant procedures
