About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Kitchen Team Leader to join our Blooms kitchen team at Tingley Garden Centre. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week, including alternate weekends), offering a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality food while leading a team to success.
As a Kitchen Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Lead Chef, ensuring exceptional standards in food preparation, kitchen compliance, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of kitchen compliance in your section, ensuring all safety, hygiene and due diligence standards are met

Lead food preparation, delivering consistent quality, presentation, and portion control
- Work confidently across the cook line, maintaining speed, accuracy, and high standards during service
- Support – and step in for – the Lead Chef to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Monitor and manage food production levels to meet business demand efficiently
- Uphold allergen awareness, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times
- Ensure accurate stock rotation, temperature checks, and inventory practices
- Help drive team performance through coaching, feedback, and key people processes
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-run kitchen environment
- Support stock takes, deliveries, and ingredient management
- Use equipment safely and maintain high standards of care
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a great guest experience
- Minimise waste through smart production methods and portion control
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen leadership or senior chef role
- Confidence working on a cook line in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- High attention to detail and a passion for quality and presentation
- A proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and waste reduction
