• Contract: Permanent
• Average weekly working hours: 35.5 hours, shifts are between 8am – 4pm
• Week 1 working days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
• Week 2 working days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
• Hourly Pay: £10.84 for under 21 year olds, £12.71 if above the age of 21

We’re looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to join our friendly catering team at Tong Garden Centre. If you’re passionate about food, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering excellent customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help keep our kitchen running smoothly by:

✅ Preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard

✅ Supporting your team to deliver great food and service

✅ Receiving, storing and organising deliveries

✅ Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleaning standards

✅ Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment

✅ Checking stock, dates and food quality

✅ Using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

✅ Helping to reduce waste and keep the kitchen organised

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

🌟 Has experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality environment

🌟 Works well in a busy team and communicates effectively

🌟 Is organised, reliable and able to use their initiative

🌟 Understands food hygiene, allergens and kitchen safety

🌟 Can stay calm under pressure and maintain high standards

🌟 Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
