The Opportunity – HR Administrator

We are looking for an organised and proactive HR Administrator to join our People Team and provide day-to-day support across the employee lifecycle.

This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start or develop their career in HR. You’ll help keep our People processes running smoothly, maintain accurate employee records and be a first point of contact for everyday People queries.

The role has a particular focus on HR administration, onboarding, HR systems and the People inbox, alongside opportunities to get involved in employee engagement and wider People projects. You’ll work closely with an experienced People Team, giving you exposure to different areas of HR while building your knowledge and experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

HR Administration & Systems

You’ll help keep our HR system, Employment Hero, accurate and up to date, processing starters, leavers, contractual changes, working hours and other employee updates. You’ll prepare standard HR documentation, maintain employee files and trackers, carry out regular data checks and produce basic HR reports when required.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

You’ll coordinate the administration that sits behind the employee journey, from preparing contracts and completing pre-employment checks through to setting up new starters and supporting their induction. You’ll also help monitor probation dates and coordinate the administration for employee changes and leavers.

People Inbox & Team Support

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day People inbox, responding to straightforward queries and making sure anything requiring HR advice is passed to the appropriate member of the team.

You’ll also support the wider People Team by preparing routine letters, coordinating meetings, maintaining HR records and occasionally taking notes during HR meetings.

Payroll & Monthly Checks

Each month, you’ll help ensure our HR and payroll information matches by cross-checking starters, leavers, salary and contractual changes, working hours and other relevant updates ahead of payroll cut-off. You’ll work with the People Team and Payroll to identify and resolve any discrepancies before payroll is finalised.

Employee Engagement & People Activities

You’ll also get involved in coordinating employee engagement activities and wider People initiatives across the business, helping with communications, bookings and practical arrangements. You’ll support initiatives designed to create a positive employee experience and workplace culture.

About You

You don’t need years of HR experience for this role. We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate, approachable and keen to develop a career in HR.

You’ll be someone who enjoys keeping things organised, is comfortable working with systems and data, and has the confidence to communicate with colleagues and managers across the business.

You’ll understand the importance of confidentiality and know when something needs to be escalated to a more senior member of the People Team.

You’ll also need to be proactive. Whether that means chasing an outstanding document, spotting that something doesn’t look right on the HR system or helping organise an employee event, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership and getting things done.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong administration and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous administration, HR administration or office experience would be beneficial, but direct HR experience isn’t essential.
  • Experience using an HR system, particularly Employment Hero or a similar HRIS, would be an advantage.
  • CIPD Level 3, studying towards an HR qualification, or an interest in developing a career in HR would also be desirable.
