The Role:

Reporting into the Head Of Operations, as an Operations Manager at Mezzino Ltd, you will be responsible for leading the lettings, customer service and maintenance operations across a given portfolio of our student properties within the UK. This is an important role leading multiple teams with regular client contact, and represents an exciting opportunity for a high calibre candidate seeking significant responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the Accommodation Management teams for a given property portfolio.
  • To ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks through liaison with the Facilities & Compliance Manager.
  • Line manager responsibility for all site staff to include recruitment, employment contracts, training, management, appraisal and incentivisation of these employees.
  • Management of financial and operational performance of each site in the portfolio.
  • Management of the lettings strategy for each site including liaison with third party providers (marketing agency/brokers) as required.
  • Monitoring of expenditure to ensure running cost is in line with budgets.
  • Ensure the appearance & presentation of our properties and staff meets expected standards.
  • Work closely with other members of the SMT to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, industry code (including ANUK) & best practice.
  • Strengthen & enforce adherence to existing operational processes & standards.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and work alongside SMT members and site staff to implement.
  • Address & resolve escalated issues & complaints in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Research, monitor & report on market activity in existing and target cities to ensure our marketing/pricing strategy maximises rental income.
  • Ensure that professional working knowledge of relevant legislation is current through regular training/CPD.
