Summary:

We are seeking motivated and ambitious graduates to join our Graduate Archaeological Geophysics Scheme, a structured 9-month CIfA-approved training programme designed to develop you into a confident and capable Assistant Archaeological Geophysicist.

The programme begins in September 2026, and we welcome applicants from final-year students due to graduate this summer, as well as recent graduates.

Based at our Bradford headquarters, with fieldwork across the UK, this programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial archaeological geophysics while working alongside experienced professionals.

You will participate in real commercial survey projects, develop technical and analytical skills, and receive ongoing support from supervisors, mentors, and a dedicated line manager. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to begin a long-term career in archaeological geophysics within a progressive, supportive, and industry-recognised organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with archaeological geophysical survey techniques, including magnetometry surveys.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot geophysical survey equipment.
  • Collect, monitor, and record field data, site notes, and project documentation.
  • Follow health and safety procedures for fieldwork.
  • Process and interpret geophysical data using industry-standard workflows.
  • Support the preparation of maps, figures, and reports through exposure to GIS and reporting workflows.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (or currently in your final year and due to graduate in Summer 2026), such as Archaeology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geography, or Environmental Science.
  • A genuine interest in archaeological geophysics and fieldwork.
  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn data processing and interpretation workflows.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team during field and office tasks.
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and readiness for UK-wide fieldwork conditions.
  • Full, manual driving license is essential,
