Personal Care Assistant

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Carer to provide support and assistance to individuals in need. The Carer will be responsible for ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of their clients, while promoting independence and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer prescribed medication and monitor vital signs and health conditions.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks
• Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and cleaning
• Accompany clients to appointments and social activities
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client care and progress.
• Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant certification (e.g., Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience (minimum 1 year) working with individuals requiring personal care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Physical ability to lift and assist clients as needed
• Understanding of duty of care principles and client safeguarding protocols.
