Description

Dynamic, respected and growing high voltage (HV) engineering specialists, involved in projects from 11kV – 400kV, require HV Design Engineers with experience designing HV infrastructure (132kV – 400kV), encompassing primary and secondary (control and protection) systems, for a variety of interesting schemes.  These projects include battery storage, substations and renewables.  

Duties:

  • Carry out feasibility studies and conceptual designs for HV engineering schemes – substations, primary / control and protection
  • Follow this with the preparation of detailed designs, calculations and specifications, ensuring adherence with grid codes, standards and legislation
  • Conduct power systems analysis
  • Help mentor and guide graduate and junior engineers
  • Make sure all project documentation is accurately completed
  • Maintain close relationships with end clients and project stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Experience in the design of HV substation projects (132kV – 400kV), covering areas such as primary and control and protection
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Knowledge of grid codes and standards within the transmission and distribution (T&D) industry
  • Experience in power systems analysis and associated software, such as DigSilent or ETAP
