Description

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in the gas utilities industry to join our client, who is a reputable and long-established organization. As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of operational delivery and ensuring compliance with NEC contracts from a commercial standpoint. This role requires someone who is flexible to work between West London and Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities:

– Oversee the management of all contractual aspects related to gas utilities projects, including but not limited to tendering, contract negotiation, contract administration, and dispute resolution.

– Promote excellent culture of Health and Safety.

– Manage the framework contract from its earliest stages, through delivery and close-out.

– Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

– Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.

– Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to gas utility operations.

– Monitor project progress against contractual obligations and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks or resolve issues.

– Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, finance, and legal departments to ensure smooth project execution.

– Provide guidance on contractual matters to project teams and assist in resolving any disputes or claims that may arise during project implementation.

– Conduct regular contract reviews to identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.

Skills:

– Strong knowledge of the gas utilities industry’s regulatory environment and practices.

– In-depth understanding of NEC contracts from a commercial perspective.

– Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to draft clear and concise contractual agreements.

– Proven experience in managing multiple contracts simultaneously while meeting deadlines effectively.

– Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for reviewing complex contract documents.

– Background at Operations Manager level in the utilities sector, specifically gas.
