Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Gas Compliance Supervisor to join our operational and Group Compliance teams, primarily supporting our activities across Scotland.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for supporting the effective management, monitoring and assurance of gas compliance across our contracts and operational teams. You will work closely with Gas Engineers, operational managers, clients and supply chain partners to ensure that all gas-related works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with current legislation, industry standards and accreditation requirements.
As our Gas Compliance Supervisor, you will provide technical guidance, undertake compliance and quality audits, identify areas of risk and ensure that any non-compliance is appropriately managed through to completion.
You will act as a key point of contact for gas compliance matters across Scotland and will support the continued development of Cardo Group’s gas compliance arrangements as we expand our service offering across the UK.
You will also play an important role in supporting and maintaining our Gas Safe registration, gas-related accreditations and technical compliance requirements, helping to ensure that Cardo Group continues to provide a safe, compliant and high-quality service to our clients and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the management and oversight of gas compliance across Cardo Group’s Scottish operations.
- Act as a key technical point of contact for gas, LPG and oil-related compliance matters.
- Ensure all gas-related works are completed in accordance with current legislation, regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, industry guidance, manufacturer instructions and best practice.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of current Gas, LPG and Oil legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a custodian for relevant Gas Safe registrations, accreditations, memberships and compliance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, support and advice to Gas Engineers, operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Support engineers with the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues where required.
- Carry out regular quality, technical and compliance audits across gas-related works, projects and operational activities.
- Undertake Quality Control Inspections on works in progress and completed works, identifying and recording any non-compliance.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored through to satisfactory completion.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, findings, remedial actions and compliance documentation.
- Monitor compliance performance, identify trends and recurring issues, and recommend appropriate improvements.
- Support internal and external audits and provide relevant evidence and documentation when required.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of gas compliance policies, procedures, systems and standards.
- Identify compliance risks, hazards and opportunities and ensure these are appropriately recorded and managed.
- Support the review and development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements where required.
- Ensure asbestos information is reviewed and, where necessary, appropriate asbestos surveys are commissioned in accordance with CAR 2012 requirements before works commence.
- Ensure equipment, systems and installations are installed, serviced and maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements and relevant legislation.
- Keep up to date with changes to gas, mechanical, health, safety and environmental legislation and communicate relevant changes to operational teams.
- Support the identification of training and development requirements and deliver or assist with toolbox talks, technical briefings and CPD training.
- Represent Cardo Group at client meetings, providing technical, compliance and SHE support where required.
- Provide clear and concise updates on compliance performance, audit findings, risks and corrective actions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, contractors and supply chain partners.
- Compile compliance reports, audit findings, statistics and presentations as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of compliance processes, systems and procedures across the business.
- Provide technical and compliance support for MCS accreditation within the Scottish regions, with the potential for this responsibility to expand across the wider business.
- Conduct technical audits across relevant MCS systems and projects to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Support operational teams and supply chain partners in addressing any identified areas of non-compliance.
- Act as a professional representative of Cardo Group at all times, promoting a strong culture of safety, compliance, quality and customer service.
- Undertake any training required to support the effective performance of the role and maintain professional and technical competence.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably required in line with the responsibilities of the role.
You will need:
- Previous experience within a Gas Compliance, Technical Compliance or Quality Assurance role.
- Experience of working within social housing.
- Experience of undertaking compliance audits and inspections.
- Experience of managing corrective actions and non-compliance.
- Experience of working with Gas Safe registration and accreditation requirements.
- Experience of MCS accreditation and renewable technologies.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience of working across multiple refurbishment or maintenance projects.
- Good understanding of asbestos and CAR 2012 requirements.
- Experience of producing compliance reports and management information.
- Experience of delivering technical training, toolbox talks or CPD sessions.
