ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead and manage electrical repair, maintenance, and installation works across our varying contracts in Aberdeen, Scotland. You will be responsible for supervising a team of electricians and ensuring all electrical works in occupied and void properties meet current regulations, are delivered safely, and are completed to a high standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise a team of electricians carrying out repairs, testing, and installation in occupied and void housing units.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the EAWR 1989, BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), NICEIC standards, and relevant health & safety legislation.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee periodic electrical inspections, EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports), and remedial works.
- Liaise with tenants to arrange access, explain works, and minimize disruption.
- Monitor performance of internal operatives and external contractors, ensuring KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Conduct quality control checks and post-inspections of completed work
- Maintain accurate records, certificates, and reports using housing management systems (e.g., Northgate, Orchard).
- Assist in the delivery of compliance programs including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and communal systems.
- Support the development and training of electricians, apprentices, and trainees.
- Respond promptly to urgent electrical issues and support emergency call-out service as required.
- Be the lead authorised person in ensuring that branch office In-Service appliance testing and operatives portable power tools/equipment testing is carried out in accordance with our internal policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the operational teams to ensure that the maintaining of high, excellent levels of service are maintained at all times.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuitry, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems.
- Understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Team management and task delegation.
- Workforce planning and scheduling.
- Conflict resolution and team motivation.
- Ability to plan and execute projects on time and within budget.
- Coordination with other departments (mechanical, civil, safety).
- Monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards and regulations.
- Conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues quickly.
- Making decisions under pressure.
- Troubleshooting complex electrical faults.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Preparing reports, shift logs, and compliance documentation.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and inspectors.
