ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Cardo Group are currently recruiting for a Apprentice Carpenter to join our team based in the Hemel Hempstead area.

As a Apprentice Carpenter, you will gain hands-on experience and technical skills in woodworking, construction, and building interiors and frameworks. Under the supervision of qualified tradespeople, you’ll work on a range of projects.

This apprenticeship combines on-site practical work with classroom-based learning, through a college or training provider, allowing you to earn while you learn and work toward a nationally recognized qualification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials.
  • Support the construction and installation of structures.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Observe and adhere to health and safety procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • English and Maths GCSE 3 or above or a Level 1 Functional Skills or above. 
  • Understanding of hand and power tools
  • Ability to measure, mark out, cut, and assemble wood accurately
  • Precision in measurements and cuts
  • Capable of manual handling and working in physically demanding environments
  • Good hand-eye coordination and balance
  • Basic arithmetic for measuring, estimating, and cutting materials
  • Understanding dimensions and tolerances
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
