ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Cardo Group are currently recruiting for a Apprentice Carpenter to join our team based in the Hemel Hempstead area.
As a Apprentice Carpenter, you will gain hands-on experience and technical skills in woodworking, construction, and building interiors and frameworks. Under the supervision of qualified tradespeople, you’ll work on a range of projects.
This apprenticeship combines on-site practical work with classroom-based learning, through a college or training provider, allowing you to earn while you learn and work toward a nationally recognized qualification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials.
- Support the construction and installation of structures.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Observe and adhere to health and safety procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- English and Maths GCSE 3 or above or a Level 1 Functional Skills or above.
- Understanding of hand and power tools
- Ability to measure, mark out, cut, and assemble wood accurately
- Precision in measurements and cuts
- Capable of manual handling and working in physically demanding environments
- Good hand-eye coordination and balance
- Basic arithmetic for measuring, estimating, and cutting materials
- Understanding dimensions and tolerances
- Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
