Barcadia Media is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our busy accounts department. This is a part-time opportunity in our Blackpool office, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and has a solid foundation in finance and administration.

We are a thriving publishing, marketing, and events business operating from a custom-designed office in sunny Blackpool. Our team manages a broad portfolio of clients, from sole traders to major financial institutions, and we also run a group of growing small businesses under our parent company. That means no two days are the same.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience using QuickBooks (preferred, but not essential)
  • Are AAT qualified or currently studying towards it
  • Are experienced in processing BACs, CHAPs and Faster Payments
  • Can manage online banking platforms and weekly payment runs
  • Have strong Excel skills and are confident with Microsoft Office
  • Have a track record in accounts and general finance tasks
  • Are confident communicating with clients at all levels
  • Are happy to work across multiple businesses and manage varied workflows
  • Are proactive, reliable, and comfortable picking up the phone when needed

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Processing invoices and managing supplier queries via phone and email
  • Performing bank reconciliations and managing purchase ledgers
  • Allocating payments and receipts accurately
  • Liaising with business managers on purchasing matters
  • Chasing outstanding payments from clients
  • Supporting the wider accounts team as needed

What We Offer

  • Between 14 and 21 hours per week, flexible across your chosen days
  • A competitive pro rata salary of £21,000 – £25,000, depending on experience
