Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Technical Trainer to deliver Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training (BTT) and ECITB-accredited Bolting courses to delegates across the wind energy and wider industrial sectors.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver GWO BTT modules including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Installation
  • Deliver ECITB Bolting courses covering mechanical joint integrity, bolt tightening techniques, torque and tension methods, and relevant safety practices
  • Assess delegate competence through practical and theoretical assessments in line with awarding body requirements
  • Maintain accurate training records, registers, and assessment documentation
  • Ensure all training equipment is maintained, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant standards
  • Stay current with GWO standard updates, ECITB scheme revisions, and industry best practice
  • Support course coordination and administration as required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all delegates

Essential Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following two profiles:

Profile A – Qualified Trainer

  • Holds current GWO BTT Instructor authorisation across one or more modules
  • Holds ECITB Bolting Assessor/Trainer accreditation (Mechanical Joint Integrity)
  • Recognised training or education qualification

Profile B – Industry Experienced (Trainee Trainer Pathway)

  • Significant hands-on industry experience in a relevant technical role, such as: Electrician / Electrical Technician
  • Mechanical Fitter / Engineer
  • Bolting Technician / Mechanical Joint Integrity Specialist
  • Wind Turbine Technician
  • Offshore or Industrial Maintenance Technician
  • Able to demonstrate strong practical knowledge of the subject matter they will be trained to deliver
  • Willing to work towards GWO Instructor authorisation and/or ECITB accreditation, supported by the company

All candidates must also demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of relevant health & safety legislation and safe systems of work
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to deliver training at various sites or client premises

Desirable Requirements

  • Additional GWO certifications (e.g. Advanced Rescue, Enhanced First Aid)
  • ECITB accreditation in additional schemes (e.g. Rigging & Slinging, Pipefitting)
  • Previous experience in a training, coaching, or mentoring capacity, even informally
  • Experience with digital training platforms and e-learning tools
  • Offshore experience
