Social Media & Content Creator
You’ll be telling the story of one of New Zealand’s most stunning regions — world-class food, a cracking team, and Fiordland National Park on the doorstep. If you’ve got a creative eye and a genuine passion for bringing brands to life through video and social media, this one’s for you.
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative, self-driven content creator to join the team at The Fat Duck — an award-winning gastropub on the edge of Fiordland National Park and a Cuisine Good Food Guide favourite. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how one of Southland’s most-loved venues shows up
online, with incredible subject matter to work with: the food, the team, the Fiordland playground, and the stories that make this place special. You’ll have real creative freedom, a direct line to the people who run the business, and a fun, tight-knit team behind you every step of the way.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the creation and execution of social media content across Instagram, Facebook, and more
- Producing short-form and long-form video content — from planning and filming through
to editing and publishing
- Creating engaging photo and written content that authentically reflects The Fat Duck brand
- Managing post scheduling and maintaining a consistent, on-brand presence across all channels
- Growing our online audience through smart, creative, data-informed content
- Coordinating with the wider team around promotions, seasonal campaigns, and events
- Work within an established marketing plan and follow direction from our marketing agency and owners to ensure content aligns with broader brand strategy
- Unifying the brand across our online presence — social, website, and beyond
What We’re Looking For
- Proven skills in videography and social media content creation, show us work you’re proud of
- Strong video editing ability and comfort with relevant software
- A good understanding of what makes content perform — reach, engagement, and growth
- A creative thinker who can work independently and take initiative
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Adaptable, calm, and good with people — this is a team environment
- A genuine love for hospitality and Fiordland, and the stories worth telling here
- A university degree is not required — we care about your skills, your ideas, and your attitude
What We Offer
- Competitive pay
- Travel costs covered
- Real creative freedom and direct input into how the brand grows
- A fun, supportive team in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful locations
- Set rostered days off to explore Fiordland National Park, the gateway to
Milford Sound and world-class outdoor adventures
